Sun Spots Information

Sun Spots

Sun spots are treated with the laser. The laser targets the pigment in the sun spot, and coagulates all blood supply to the pigment. Initially, the pigment will darken, and then in between 4-14 days the pigment will fall off, just as a scab would do.

This is an uncomfortable treatment, we recommend Tylenol (or equivalent as long as it does not thin the blood) or a topical numbing cream, we recommend EMLA cream.

Please note that if you are in the sun consistently, more sun spots will appear. Some Clients choose to get the treatment done every few years as they are not willing to stay out of the sun. Remember to wear sunscreen to prevent sun spots!
